CNN takes a look at Stanford's eco-friendly wood substitute

A recent CNN video profiles Stanford professors, Sarah Billington and Craig Criddle, who are working to create a non-petroleum artificial wood. The material is made by layering a hemp-like material with a polymer extracted from bacteria.

While they are still in the testing phase, the researchers are hopeful that they are on their way to creating a durable, renewable building material.
