Alumni

There are an estimated 177,341 living Stanford degree holders, including 71,470 undergraduate alumni, 88,229 graduate alumni and 17,642 dual-degree holders. These men and women who have been educated at Stanford have, each in their own way, challenged and shaped the world.

Faculty

Today, Stanford has 1, 800 tenure-line faculty, senior fellows and center. Faculty at Stanford are expected to be among the best teachers and researchers in their fields. There are 408 faculty members appointed to endowed chairs. Twenty-seven Stanford faculty have won the Nobel Prize since the university's founding.

Graduate Education

Nearly 8,000 students in 63 departments and programs are currently pursuing post-baccalaureate degrees in seven schools: Business, Earth Sciences, Education, Engineering, Humanities and Sciences, Law and Medicine.

Undergraduate Education

The Stanford undergraduate degree program is designed to achieve balance between depth of knowledge acquired through specialization and breadth of knowledge gained through exploration.

Stanford offers three undergraduate degrees—Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Sciences (B.S.), and Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (B.A.S.). Of the seven schools at Stanford, three award undergraduate degrees: Humanities and Sciences, Earth Sciences and Engineering.
