Binyamin Blum, a student in history and law, is studying the transplantation of English common law into the Middle East between World Wars I & II. This work has potential to inform current policy debates about introducing the rule of law abroad.

Stanford’s School of Humanities and Sciences establishes The Ric Weiland Graduate Fellowships

weiland_fellows1.jpgThe School of Humanities and Sciences has appointed 23 doctoral candidates in the humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and statistics to the first cohort of Ric Weiland Graduate Fellows. The fellowships are named for one of Microsoft’s first five employees, whose 2006 bequest to Stanford established the program.
